Sunset Retreat is a seasonal, vanilla+ Minecraft SMP. We are an 18+ community aimed at creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where players can relax and enjoy their favourite game. Sunset Retreat aims to be a place where gamers can come to escape the chaos and stress of every-day life and enjoy Minecraft in the way it was intended – with friends.

The owners, myself and punk, have spent years playing on other vanilla+ servers and we are now bringing our wealth of experience to our own server, along with all the lessons we’ve learnt along the way. Most importantly, we want to put the players at the centre of Sunset Retreat. We are committed to:
1. Updating the server as soon as possible to ensure our players are never left waiting to play with the latest features from Mojang. We run as few plugins as possible which will allow us to update as soon as the plugin authors have updated their plugins, when necessary.
2. Creating a warm atmosphere that welcomes new players to the community and encourages them to stay and play. Part of this is a commitment to be present as owners, but also as Minecraft players ourselves.
3. Engaging with the community. We will regularly be running community projects and events to ensure there is always something to do or help out with when logging onto Sunset Retreat! We want our players to feel it is their community, not just ours. To foster this, we have many ways players can directly contact us to talk about the server: suggestions, tickets, community project channels as well as catching us in-game.

Our server aims to find the balance between authentic vanilla gameplay and the convenience offered by some vanilla+/semi-vanilla servers. See below for our list of features:
- Shopping district - completely vanilla, diamond-based economy.
- Pl3xMap – a web-based that updates in real time.
- VoiceChat – chat with other Sunset Retreat players you meet in-game.
- Support for Java from 1.20+ and Bedrock – play even without updating your own mods and from consoles and your phone no matter where you are in the real world!
- Player Stats – ever wondered if you truly are the best wither-killer, or wanted to shame the player who’s killed the most bees?! Check how your gameplay choices compares to all other Sunset Retreat players by comparing over 100 in-game statistics and share them into chat.
- We also offer the ability for players to access non-pay-to-win, decorative/customization perks like: HeadDatabase, editable armour stands and custom discs to allow our players as much flexibility to make their builds come to life.

Season 1 is launching soon [DATE COMING SOON] and is expected to last 9-12 months.
